Certina started 2018, its anniversary year, by establishing a dynamic new partnership: with immediate effect, the brand is the proud partner of the Wilvo Yamaha Official MXGP team. The Swiss watch manufacturer officially announced the new partnership on Saturday 24th February 2018 at the SWISS-MOTO show in Zurich – in attendance were team drivers Jeremy Seewer and Shaun Simpson, who put in an enthusiastic appearance despite teammate Arnaud Tonus being unable to join them due to injury. Along with team manager Louis Vosters, they welcomed the audience of motorsport fans and praised their new and devoted Certina companion: the DS Podium Chronograph 1/100 sec which keeps time with precision – to hundredths of a second.
Jeremy Seewer, the Swiss MX2 Vice World Champion, has been associated with Certina since 2017. The brand is therefore all the more pleased to now be supporting his new team and be by his side as he premières in the top tier of motocross. Adrian Bosshard, president of Certina, reiterates: "We are extremely happy about this new partnership. In motorsport, every second counts – and we are pleased to offer our reliable precision in service to these gifted young men. Furthermore, as a Swiss Made watch brand, we are doubly proud that two exceptionally talented Swiss men, Jeremy and Arnaud, have found their way to the highly professional Wilvo team."
Certina will not only be adorning the wrists of the drivers – the logo will also be displayed on the motorcycles and kit. Who knows? Perhaps the art of Swiss watchmaking will no longer be known solely for its reliability and precision – but also as a veritable lucky charm.
