From the 2022/2023 season onwards, Certina will be taking on the role of official timekeeper for the FIS Cross-Country World Cup for a period of four years. As an expert in timekeeping, the brand is already looking forward to many weekends of thrilling races. Between November and March, competitions in Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, France, Sweden and Estonia are on the racing calendar – and Certina will be present at each event to ensure ultimate precision!
There are many reasons why the new partnership is an affair of the heart for the watchmaker: "Sport is and always has been a major part of Certina's brand image," explains CEO Marc Aellen. "We look forward to supporting the FIS Cross-Country World Cup as the official timekeeper from this season onwards. Not only does a long history link Certina to this discipline, we also share the same values: Ruggedness, endurance and precision are the guiding principles that spur us on each and every day when developing our timepieces."
In the past, Certina has acquired a wealth of experience as a timekeeper for international sports events and has supported the Ski Classics Pro Tour long-distance cross-country championship since early 2021. There is another reason why the brand is so enthusiastic about this type of sport: "Certina advocates for greater sustainability, which is why we cherish the close relationship to nature that cross-country skiing embodies," explains Certina CEO Marc Aellen. "We are excited to experience the thrill of the competition and top performances on the cross-country skiing trails and wish every success to all of the participants!"
